What is it about?

This article provides a summary of Movies On Our Mind, which traces the development of the elements of popular movies from where characters are placed on the screen, through shots and their various types, to montages, scenes, and syntagmas (rapid intercutting between shots belonging to separate scenes), and the narrative flow across whole movies.
