What is it about?

Government agencies and academics have developed many definitions of and many indicators to measure violence. This book wants to develop a coherent measurement framework, in order to mainstream gender into official statistics.

Why is it important?

To prevent violence against women, or simply to grasp whether violence rates are "decreasing" or "increasing", we need coherent notions and robust data.

Perspectives

Contributing to this book was a great experience, as co-authors brought their different perspectives on violence. We set ourselves a very ambitious goal. I hope you find it useful and thought-provoking on violence research.
