What is it about?
This paper describes a method for using data from experiments and from computer analysis to construct a mathematical model that describes the motion of a small, fixed-wing unmanned aircraft. Unique challenges include the airplane's greater susceptibility to wind gusts and lower quality sensors that provide less accurate measurements. The methods described here produce a more accurate model from flight test data than conventional procedures do.
