What is it about?
The coefficient of friction between the turbine engine blade/disk components has a significant effect on fretting fatigue life prediction. However, direct identifications of the fretting fatigue contact surface are very difficult or even impossible. Hence, we propose a universal fracture mechanics based methodology to determine the friction coefficient and make detailed verifications.
