What is it about?

Determination of biological activity of different analogues of vancomycin

Featured Image

Why is it important?

Vancomycin is a last line antibiotic, that is used for traetment of severe bacterial infections. Therefore, the growing number of vanomycin-resistant strains forces the need for development of the analogues that would could be applied in the therapy.

Perspectives

Multidrug resistance to antibiotics is a growing problem nowadays. The search for new anitmicrobial agenst, that could be effective against vancomycin resistant strains (e.g. VRE, VISA or VRSA) is highly demanded.
