What is it about?

The patient had a trigeminal nerve stimulator and hearing issues. After considering cochlear implantation, successful electrical stimulation improved hearing tests. The report also shows how the stimulator interferes with auditory evoked potential measurements.

Why is it important?

Our findings show how to deal with the complex scenario of interferences between two implanted electrical stimulators of cranial nerves.

Perspectives

This is a very special case report for the authors as we experienced many extraordinary difficulties in planning the implantation of the second cranical nerve stimulator as well as postoperative fitting of the CI system and electrophysiolocial measurements while both cranial stimulators active.
