What is it about?

This article is about self-regulated learning in secondary education students. Specifically, it analyzes the relationships between motivation (academic goals, self-efficacy beliefs, and self-handicapping strategies), learning strategies, and academic achievement in 2nd year ESO (compulsory secondary education) students in Spain. The overall goal is to understand how secondary students self-regulate their learning and what factors are associated with better academic performance, in order to provide insights for improving teaching and learning at this educational level.
