What is it about?
First study predicting correct ENaC stoichiometry, which was later confirmed by crystallization of ASIC channel, which belong to the same family.

Why is it important?
ENaC is involved in the fine tuning of sodium transport in the kidney and blood pressure, respectively. Therefore, it is critical to know how this channel is formed since it facilitate creation of targeted therapy. Furthermore, it is helpful for understanding how this particular channel is regulated by other proteins and signaling pathways.
