What is it about?
This study summarises the findings of the past 20 years of research in music and emotions. It tracks the ways the focus of research has evolved, the methodologies have expanded, and the broadening of the musical examples employed in the research. Despite great strides, this study presents a list of critical shortcomings that should be addressed in future studies.
