What is it about?
Indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA) patterns are useful in the interpretation of IFA on HEp-2 cells (HEp-2 IFA) for the screening of autoantibodies. The International Consensus on Antinuclear Antibody Patterns (ICAP) (www.ANApatterns.org) has defined 28 anti-cell (AC) patterns with detailed morphological characterization, representative images and immunological/clinical correlates. The present paper presents AC-29, the latest ICAP approved pattern, which is strongly associated with scleroderma-specific anti-topoisomerase I antibodies.
