What is it about?

We studied the differential predictive role of career attitudes (protean and boundaryless career), career experiences (objective boundarylessness), availability of clear career paths (as an organizational factor) and employability enhancement factors (employability culture as an organizational factor, and employability as an individual factor) on career success.

Why is it important?

First, we differentiated between objective and subjective career success; second, we applied dominance analysis to evaluate the differential predictive role of several variables; third, we included both individual and organizational antecedents.

Perspectives

Carrying out this study was possible only thanks to the collaboration of the three Project Management Institute Italian Chapters. Results have been presented to several conferences (also professional ones) and attracted great interest for their practical implications: being a protean project manager can make a difference for your career success!
