This was a qualitative study on HIV self-testing. We aimed to establish the views of pregnant women and their male partners on female-partner delivered HIV self-testing.

Why is it important?
Distribution of HIV self-test kits through female partners is gaining prominence and has been shown to improve male partner testing. We sought to find out if this approach would be acceptable for pregnant women and their male partner s in order to inform the design of a pilot HIV self-testing intervention that is currently underway.
