What is it about?
Suicide is a prioritary public health problem which is significantly related to psychiatric and neurological conditions. This study focuses on a specific neuropsychiatric disease, anti-NMDAR encephalitis, which is a form of autoimmune disease. We made a prospective assessment of suicidal behavior in 120 patients with anti-NMDAR encephalitis, and found that 12.5% patients had suicidal behavior during the acute phase of the disease, which was related to states of psychotic depression. Most of these patients had a remission of suicidal behavior after they recieved immunotherapy
