What is it about?
This workshop paper is about extending participatory design to include more-than-human natural entities, including animals, plants, micro-organisms, etc., and their ecosystems. It calls on participants to explore theoretical, methodological and empirical ways we can enable these entities to participate in our research and design efforts for sustainability.

Why is it important?
Humans are not alone on earth even though most of the causes of our current environmental crisis are anthropogenic. Other species are also victims of climate change and global warming. So far, we have ignored these entities in most of our restorative efforts and PD is no exception. The workshop asked important questions about how to incorporate multispecies perspectives and design for and with the non-human natural entities toward more impactful and sustainable solutions.
