What is it about?
Meta avatar robot cafe is a cafe that fuses cyberspace and physical space to create new encounters with people. We create a cafe where people with disabilities who have difficulty going out can work by switching freely between avatar robot bodies and virtual bodies via the internet, and communicate their presence and warmth to each other.

Why is it important?
Our mission is to solve loneliness through technology. We focused on employment, and realized a system that allows people who have given up communication due to disabilities to participate in society through the Internet. We have realized a system that allows people to work at home by operating avatar robots in remote locations, AR avatars that can transcend the physical limitations of robots, and an avatar robot cafe (https://dawn2021.orylab.com/en/) that is a cafe space for this purpose.
Perspectives
If these types of technology and space become widespread, we can realize a society in which we can participate in various social activities even if we become bedridden.

Meta Avatar robot cafe
Meta avatar robot cafe is a cafe that fuses cyberspace and physical space to create new encounters with people. We create a place where people with disabilities who have difficulty going out can freely switch between their physical bodies and virtual bodies, and communicate their presence and warmth to each other. Since 2018, we have been working on the avatar robot cafe and have implemented various experimental stores. Meta Avatar robot cafe is a new application of the avatar robot cafe that introduces a body extension system that enables interaction and an AR avatar that extends the sense of space. Ory Lab opened their "Work-Remotely-Cafe" as a social experiment, in order to create an environment where even bed-ridden people can interact and engage in meaningful roles with others. Orylab will continue to pursue a future for people with limited mobility,where they are able to engage and play a meaningful role in society, and feel that their lives are valuable and worth living.
