What is it about?

Exploring VR worlds by simply walking through them provides a great player experience and feeling of presence. However, most living rooms are not large enough to explore vast environments by natural walking. So, developers bypass that limitation by adding virtual navigation such as teleportation. However, this necessary tradeoff also decreases realism. Our novel navigation technique emphasizes physical walking by turning players into giants on demand to cover large distances. Our evaluation shows that our concept boosts presence, encourages players to walk, and avoids cybersickness typically observed with other methods.
