Dissecting the labdane‐related diterpenoid biosynthetic gene clusters in rice reveals directional cross‐cluster phytotoxicity

What is it about?

The rice genome contains two biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) responsible for production of labdane-related diterpenoid (LRD) phytoalexins. We show they play complex roles in regulating antimicrobial responses and hypersensitive cell death in rice.
