What is it about?
The fungal pathogen Candida albicans survives in the human host by effectively coping with damage to its cell wall and other glycostructures, which occur during infection. Here we describe fungal rescue mechanisms that protect against glycostress and allow fungal proliferation, ultimately leading to serious disease.
