β‐Caryophyllene protects against alcoholic steatohepatitis by attenuating inflammation and metabolic dysregulation in mice

What is it about?

Beta-caryophyllene (BCP) is an FDA approved food additive, component of several medicinal plants. We show that BCP treatment protects against alcoholic liver injury. Since BCP is safe in humans (FDA approved food additive), it may have important therapeutic utility and translational potential in treating or preventing alcoholic liver injury.
