Why is it important?
This work is intended to explore the integration of lean and six sigma and how researchers have changed their approaches or interests. Our findings suggest that research into the integrated format has grown over exploring only one methodology but also that Six Sigma researchers are more likely to incorporate lean than lean practitioners are to incorporate Six Sigma
Perspectives
We have sought to inform the discussion within organisations around how and why the select methodologies for their continuous improvement initiatives through tracking the focus of researchers in the area to evidence patterns and themes.
