What is it about?
The study looked at how modern translators get their information, whether they use traditional sources or newer ones. The data was collected via online survey. The sample was 229 Polish translators of different languages and specialities. The most used source was the search engine, followed by Wikipedia and online parallel texts. Dictionaries are often used. Dictionaries were also the most often-cited indispensable source (34% of responses). Printed dictionaries were mentioned by 8% of respondents and used by 87% of translators. Most respondents use online dictionaries. Nearly all respondents (99%) declare that check what they have found in online dictionaries either regularly or occasionally.
