What is it about?
Cannabinoid system is an important part of brain function, contributing on many levels of information processing. Analyzing post-mortem brain tissues from AD patients, we reported that AD leads to a definite impairment in cannabinoid system signaling. We found that this disruption is underlain by toxic beta-amyloid and results in abnormal function of neuronal network, leading to impaired cognitive processes.
