Why is it important?
Understanding who will take vacations even when faced with constraints, such as fewer vacation days a year, has important implications for forecasting how many people will travel, for correctly targeting travel-related advertising campaigns, for determining the potential success of appeals to travel less, for stimulating travel demand after a crisis, and for estimating the impact of changes in vacation-related labor laws or employment contracts.
