Why is it important?

Captioned TV series are used informally to learn a language but oftentimes without a clear aim. This paper exposes how useful they are in learning vocabulary and the role that IDs such as proficiency and aptitude play in the learning process at two different ages.

Perspectives

The plus this paper offers is to question the potential of the use of captioned multimodal materials to learn a FL for the sake of it.
