Why is it important?
In the field of statistical process control, the control charts are considered to be highly powerful tool to determine the effect of modifications in any process. These chart s are used to differentiate between special causes and common causes of variation. The aim of this study is to investigate the consistency and accuracy of the CUSUM control chart considering the situation that variance of that specified normal process shows a shift to a level of rejection. It is important to note here that the consistency of the process is measured by evaluating in-control average run length in different situations. Consistency is analyzed by raising the size of the sample, maximizing the decision limits and considering various reference values that has been utilized in literature.
