What is it about?
The first objective of this study is to investigate the use of night-time (LSTnight) or daytime (LSTday) MODIS data for estimating minimum or maximum air temperature over Greece. The second objective of this study is to investigate the use of LSTnight and LSTday MODIS data for predicting reference ET by three models based on limited data (Tair or Tair and precipitation).

Why is it important?
This study shows that MODIS LST products could be employed in the REMCT model (initially developed using ground air temperatures) for estimating reference ET in areas where ground temperature data are not provided.
