What is it about?
Good collaboration between parents and educators is necessary for the child to grow and learn. The paper examines this collaboration by talking with the parents in focus groups and then the researchers showed the findings to the educators which discussed them in a focus group. The parents and educators seemed to have similar experiences and views of the parent-professional collaboration but when educators were describing the situation of parents of foreign cultures they thought they were often isolated.

Why is it important?
Our findings showed that the collaboration was not in harmony with Peter Moss’s (2007) ideas of democratic early childhood education and the collaboration was not built on equal terms in every way.
Perspectives
I think that this article is important to Icelandic educators as it shows that they could do better in collaboration to parents.
