What is it about?

Most studies on translators' information-seeking behaviour have either looked at translators in general or a specific group (like legal translators). This study looked at whether different factors, such as age, experience, language, and use of technology, affect how translators choose sources. A survey of 226 Polish translators was conducted. We compared the answers of different groups of translators to one question: 'How often do you use the following sources when translating?' The results were checked for statistical significance. Younger and less experienced translators used authorless online sources more often. MT and CAT use do not influece research behaviour. Translating into your own language needs more research than translating into a second language. Tech-savvy translators use more unusual sources of information.
