Translate live to generate new knowledge

What is it about?

Most people believe that translation is textual, that is, based on a text. They also understand translation in existing categories, distinguishing writing (translation) from speaking (interpreting) and consecutive from simultaneous interpreting. This paper presents findings of an investigation which include the following. a) Translation can be conceptually based for the purpose of driving social changes. b) Translation can be semiotic rather than just print media c) Translation can be conducted live, that is, in a new mode not ever discussed in any other academic writings. d) Translation can generate new knowledge rather than just treating and spreading existing knowledge. e) Translation can be conducted in a way that engages and empowers readers.
