What is it about?

"Bremmer's book unlocks for the first time comprehensively everything that has been published on Old Frisian or related matters. The material is ordered not just according to the name of authors and reviewers, but in addition, and especially important, also according to the subjects treated. It will therefore become an indispensable tool for all those who engage themselves with this small branch of the Germanic languages." Dietrich Hofmann

Why is it important?

This guide prevents you from inventing the wheel anew. Instead it allows you to stand on the shoulders of those who have spent their brains and imagination to solve problems even if only partly.

Perspectives

Old Frisian studies is an exiting discipline, but it is not always easy for newcomers to the field to see what has already been done. I myself was often surprised to discover that far more ad been done than I had ever realized when I was compiling my guide.
