What is it about?

Why is it important?

History, culture, and language are all integral parts of identity. Consequently, it is impossible to analyze the new religious identity of a convert without considering the impact of these factors on how the convert defines a new identity as a Spaniard and a US Latino, respectively. Furthermore, while the role of languages in relation to identity has been extensively studied, this aspect has not yet been thoroughly explored in the context of converts to Islam.

Perspectives

This book is the result of biographical experiences. As I watched the wives of my spouse's friends convert to Islam in awe, I wondered why I could not do the same. I needed to know why and this is how this book started.
