What is it about?
The chapters present different research approaches from various linguistic perspectives, with a solid theoretical foundation and practical examples and analyses. The chapter entitled "Markers of argumentation in intercultural professional discourse" describes and identifies argumentative markers. These are single or complex lexical expressions that give a certain argumentative function to a piece of discourse. In the chapter, there are presented means of creating convincing arguments, seeking for and expressing agreement, and expressing disagreement and contrast in professional encounters between native and non-native speakers of English.
