What is it about?
In this study we, for the first time, identified secretagogin as a neuron-specific Ca2+- binding protein in the mammalian brain. Interestingly, we found secretagogin to be expressed, among others, in mouse dentate gyrus granule cells – while in primates it is restricted to cholinergic neurons in basal forebrain.
