What is it about?
Attapulgite clay stone is availble at in Bahr al-Najaf mid south .The goal of this project is to develop attapulgite mud that meets the American Petroleum Institute (API) for the application of oil well drilling mud in Bahr Al-Najaf.

Why is it important?
The target of this work is matding the standarels of attapulgite clays of Bahar Al-Najaf with those related to the American Petroleum Institute (API).
Perspectives
To be attapulgite clay suitable in oil wells drilling mud as an alternative material for the imported bentonite by modifying separating undesirable minerals such as quartz and calcite. And to improve the performance of attapulgite clay by adding different types of nanomaterials with various percentages.
