This paper re-visits a sample of developments in West Yorkshire, England to establish the extent to which the crime reduction benefits demonstrated over a decade before have been sustained.

Secured by Design (SBD) is an effective crime reduction measure - this has been demonstrated through analysis of police recorded and self reported crime data. But to what extent is that crime reduction effect sustained? This paper explores a sample of SBD developments over a period of ten years to assess the extent to which the crime reduction benefits have been sustained.
