What is it about?
A camera calibration procedure based on genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed in this study to estimate the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of the camera model for improving positional accuracy and faster convergence.

Why is it important?
Vision-assisted robots require accurate position information of the parts from vision sensor, in order to estimate the robot poses accurately. Stability of the Position based visual servoing is influenced by the pose estimation error which in turn depends on the estimated camera instrinsic parameters (Camera Calibration).
