What is it about?
Sequestering carbon dioxide is sought after goal. However, unless the material has other uses, it will be a wasteful material. So making interesting carbon-dioxide complexes is worth while. Carbon dioxide is captured by titanium-oxo-alkoxide complex whereas the alkoxide complex without the oxo group is intert to carbon dioxide. This unusual structure suggests that the oxo alkoxide titanium complex is more reactive to carbon dioxide than the alkoxide complex.

Why is it important?
It is generally felt that all alkoxide metal complexes react with carbon dioxide. This reaction suggests that an oxo ligand is needed for further stabilising the inserted product.
