What is it about?
In this study, managers rated employees on dimensions of performance that were both in-role, or a part of the job description for a secretarial job, or extrarole/citizenship behaviors such as cooperation and helping others. While in-role dimensions were the stronger predictors of overall performance ratings, extrarole behaviors explained one-third of the variance in performance ratings, and both types of dimensions were highly statistically significant.
