What is it about?

In this study we used eye-tracking to examine what language learners pay attention to when they read a text in English. We found that students do not pay attention to new grammar structures unless they are explicitly told to look for them in the text. Those learners who paid attention to the grammar construction were more successful in learning them. The study shows that language learners need explicit guidance in learning new grammatical structures.
