What is it about?
Biogas digestate is a slurry residue of biogas production which is a good fertlizer for crop production. Drying is recommended to reduce mass to be transported. However, valuable nitrogen content might be reduced by ammonium emissions and residual methane, still being disolved in the digestate can be released.

Why is it important?
Both, ammonium and methane emissions should be reduced to prevent nitrogen losses and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, respectively.
