What is it about?

microRNA are small molecules recently identified in our cells. Their role in controlling the immune system is complex. Therefore, this review summaries the current information. In fact, bring all this information together in our review article has shown that microRNA actually regulate several well know protein regulators of the immune response leading us to coin the phrase "master controllers".

Why is it important?

The role of microRNA seems to be complex and diverse. Therefore it is important to collate all this information into a concise review article. Brining together such a huge body of work is difficult to achieve; therefore this review aims to provide our research community with a clear and through analysis of up-to-date data and provide them with a new insight into the role of microRNA as "regulators of regulators".

Perspectives

This review provides an excellent insight into the role of microRNA as regulators of several signalling pathways and links their action to several diseases settings.
