What is it about?
In industrialized countries, diseases of the circulatory system are still the major common cause of death. According to common doctrine in addition to a treatment with medication, lifestyle changes are required, too. For lifestyle changes the patient has to employ enormous self-management efforts, as it is very hard to maintain them without proper control and support. The telemedical assistance system called COMES® (Cognitive Medical Systems), which has been developed at the Heinz Nixdorf Lehrstuhl für Medizinische Elektronik der Technischen Universität München, is an eminent tool for supporting the continuation of life style changes.
