Consumer ethnocentrism and consumer animosity have witnessed a historical evolution in the literature, yet the literature is limited given four factors: (a) a lack of systematic assessments and comprehensive summaries in the field, (b) a dominance of quantitative research studies, (c) a scarcity in historical reviews, and (d) a lack of a common understanding of the link between consumer ethnocentrism and consumer animosity.
