The article aims at optimising the drafting policy for Hong Kong’s bilingual legislation, in particular the fluency, accuracy and comprehensiveness of the Chinese version, by proposing specific techniques and strategies within a theoretical framework of language communication.

Perspectives
The first of its kind, this study adopts a systematic and empirical methodology to analyse the bilingual legislation of Hong Kong and make practical suggestions. The findings have implications on other jurisdictions adopting bilingual and multilingual legal systems.
