Recognizing this shortage is important for individuals to navigate the digital realm effectively, for businesses to engage their target audience, and for society to understand the implications of social media on information dissemination and public discourse.
Perspectives
Writing this review was a great pleasure as a digital discourse, humor and narrativity researcher. This paper led to deep philosophical thoughts and conversations with my colleagues. Also, it is fascinating to see how today's communicative practices can still be informed by the 19th century's thoughts about human tendencies.
