What is it about?
Infographics can make health information easier to understand. However, it is not always clear how to design a good infographic. We partnered with adults with asthma to create infographics that they found appealing and could understand easily. In this paper we detail all the steps in our process and give rationale for our decisions.

Why is it important?
This work is important because we can extend some of what we learned to infographics for other health topics. For example, patients connect most readily with images that show their subjective experience of their health condition.
Perspectives
I'm particularly pleased to share what we learned about showing lung function test results. These results are often not shared with patients because they are so complex. But we found a way to make key metrics from lung function test results easy to understand, thereby giving patients better access to their own health information.
