What is it about?

Evaluation of the impact of agricultural activities on the eutrophication phenomenon of the N'zi River in Côte d'Ivoire

Featured Image

Why is it important?

In recent decades in Côte d'Ivoire, agriculture has intensified with the increasing of fertilizers used to improve yields. This can alter the nutrient cycle and help to accelerate waters eutrophication. The N’zi River waters could be threatened by eutrophication given the strong agricultural potential of its watershed

Perspectives

This study suggests an awareness and monitoring program must be put in place to reduce the nutrients inputs in the N'zi River upstream.
