Enhancing Intercultural Skills Through Aesthetic Education in Universities

The study explored the implementation of aesthetic dimensions in the curricula of Ukrainian and Polish higher education institutions to foster intercultural dialogue and enhance students' aesthetic competence. The research employed qualitative methods, collecting data through documented statements and voluntary surveys of 296 undergraduate and graduate students. The findings indicated that interactions in multicultural environments at these universities enriched students' aesthetic competence, necessitating openness, dialogue, and compromise. Pedagogical strategies in the study emphasized joint creative tasks as platforms for understanding diverse aesthetic ideas, requiring pedagogical support like facilitation and cultural sensitivity. Activities promoting intercultural dialogue included academic discussions, joint research, art projects, and aesthetic education ventures such as concerts and exhibitions.
