What is it about?

What do school leaders know about Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)? Is it challenging, and do they need help with this school program? We asked these essential questions to know if a real problem existed. Indeed a few studies reported that there are challenges in executing ESD in schools.

Why is it important?

We conducted a scoping review to determine the actual situation of the issues so other researchers or readers can get the answer to the question of 'Do they face the challenges in ESD?' Uncovering the challenges, as indicated by other researchers, gives a new insight into how these challenges can be overcome.

Perspectives

The idea of writing this article came from my personal experience with a group of school leaders who were questioning the same question above on the matter of ESD. I took this opportunity to venture deeper into answering the question by conducting a scoping review.
