What is it about?
In our study in Surabaya, we looked at how people's support from their community can help prevent dengue fever. We found that when people get more support from others in their community, they are more likely to take actions like draining bathtubs, covering water containers, and disposing of garbage properly - all of which help prevent dengue fever. This means that it's important for the government to involve and encourage community leaders to help in dengue prevention.

Why is it important?
Our study in Surabaya is unique because it focuses on the role of social support in preventing dengue fever. While dengue prevention is usually seen as an individual responsibility, our research shows that community support can play a crucial role. This insight is timely as dengue cases have been increasing, and finding effective prevention strategies is vital. Our findings highlight the need for governments to engage community leaders actively in dengue prevention efforts. This unique perspective on a pressing health issue makes our work relevant and could lead to more effective public health campaigns.
